The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has co-opted Mr. Bede A. Ziedeng, former General Secretary and Mr. Osei Piesie-Anto former National Organiser both of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) unto the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr. George Lawson, Deputy General Secretary (Operations) of the NDC said the decision was taken at its meeting held on the June 12, 2012, by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC), acting on behalf of the NEC of the NDC and under powers conferred on it by article 50 of the party’s constitution.
The statement said 10 other members of the DFP have also been co-opted unto the various Regional Executive Committees.
They are Mr. Nikoi Addison (Greater Accra), Barima Safo Kantanka (Eastern), Mr. Charles Jojo Adu-Fordjuor (Western), Mr. Frank Longdon (Central), Mr. Samuel Kofi Apedo (Volta), Nana Boadi Anto (Brong Ahafo), Mr. Mathias Gollo (Ashanti), Alhaji Yushawu (Northern), Mr. Kwame Mumuni (Upper West) and Alhaji Masawudu Patience (Upper East).
The statement said the appointments take immediate effect and advised all Regional Executives of the NDC to take note and co-opt them unto their various regional committees.
It stated that other appointments to the constituency executive committees in the various regions would be announced later.
