Who emerges the Best Actor (Supporting Role) for featuring in local movies done in English, proved the most unpredictable in 25 categories, as 131 nominations for the upcoming maiden Ghana Movie Awards (GMA) were officially unveiled at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, last week Friday.
For his role in The Game, John Dumelo would be looking forward to snatch home the award, which has eight equally good actors in contention, namely Adjetey ‘Pusher’ Annan (A Sting In A Tale), Ekow Blankson (Checkmate), Ekow Smith Asante (Naked Faces), Kofi Adjorlolo (Beast), Kweku Sintim Misa (Checkmate), Omar Sheriff Captan (4 Play), Gavivina Tamakloe (Blackmail) and Chris Attoh (Sinking Sands).
Similarly, the Best Actress (Supporting Role) also promises to be a tight for nine local English-speaking actresses, viz Nadia Buari (Checkmate), Yvonne Nelson (Game), Beverly Afaglo (Game), Rama Brew (Who Loves Me), Kalsum Sinare (Trinity), Naa Ashorkor (Checkmate), Khareema Aguair (Checkmate), Nana Hayford (Beast) and veteran Doris Sackitey (Sinking Sands).
