THE Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Society
of the Tamale Diocese of Catholic Church, has donated assorted items to the inmates of the Nyohini Children’s Home in Tamale.
The items worth more than GH¢2,000 included rice, cartons of milk, sugar, cooking oil, cartons of key bar soap, toilet roll and second hand clothes.
The members of the society also fed the inmates with hot meals and soft drinks.
Mrs Elizabeth Quarshie, president of the society, making the donation on behalf of the group said it was meant to alleviate the suffering of the children.
She stressed that the inmates were the future leaders of the society and, therefore, needed to be assisted to make meaningful lives.
Mrs Quarshie maintained that it was through no fault of the inmates that they came to the home and called for support for them to achieve their dreams.
She mentioned that the donation was the third time that the group had donated to the inmates and pledged that they would continue to offer more support in future.
Mrs Quarshie commended the care takers of the home for their commitment and dedication in taking good care of the children.
She advised them not to relent in their efforts but to continue with the good deeds, saying “God will richly bless you for a good job”.
Madam Beatrice Agyemang, Assistant Supervisor of the Nyohini Children’s Home, thanked the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Society for the gesture.
She said that the home needs a fence wall, street lights and water and appealed to organisations and individuals to assist them.
