The RLG Communications Limited yesterday presented a cheque for GH¢500,000 to the government towards the burial service of the funeral of President John E.A. Mills.
The Chief Executive Officer of RLG, Roland Agambire, disclosed also that about 50 beneficiaries of the National Youth Employment Programme ICT module had decided to forgo their two-month allowance, to be forwarded to the Funeral Committee as a show their appreciation to the President
According to the workers, the President was their mentor and a father who cared for the jobless, adding that through the Better Ghana Agenda, the ICT module had expanded to benefit the youth.
In another development the Chairman of the Central Region fishermen Association, Nana Amoako Essah called on fisher folks to Pay down their tools this Friday, the burial day of to show respect to the late President and also to appreciate the relationship between the President and the fisherfolks.
Nana Essah said this in Accra when, members of the association from Secondi, Axim and Edina donated divers kinds of fish to the Funeral committee to help in the funeral service of the President.
It included groper, chiley, tilapia, octopus, smoked fish.
Nana Essah commended the late President for the establishment of the coastal landing beaches which has helped the fishing communities to record higher yield.
