Renew Your Commitment To CPP - Nana Buckman Tells Members

Nana Kofi Buckman, a member of the Central Commission of the Convention People Party has appealed to Comrades aspiring to be the party’s Presidential candidate for 2012, to contribute to build a strong nation- wide organization structure for effective Campaign and the challenges ahead before thinking of carrying out their ambitions.

“Lets us build the structures before thinking of Presidential intentions now, because the current situation where the party lacks the structures should be of critical concern and priority to all”, he added.

Nana Buckman who is also a member of the National Executive Committee of the Party added that the Presidential aspirants should observe the Party’s laid down procedures and rules in the pursuit of their Presidential aspirations.

In view of Nana Buckman, Chairman of the Mfantsiman West Constituency of the Party, it was necessary for the aspirants to all join hands to establish Party offices in the Constituencies.

“We must identify all our foot soldiers, resources and motivate them to carry out an extensive field work”, he said, adding that the party should aim at having vans for each of the ten (10) regions to undertake an extensive re-organization exercise.

Mr. Buckman suggested that to well-to-do, dedicated and committed members of the Party to donate the vans to the Party, adding “We must be serious now”.

Analyzing the disappointing performance of the party in 2008 elections, Nana Buckman stressed the need for self-examination by all Party members and calls on the National Executive to adopt serious and positive steps to restructure the organization machinery and restrategise to face the challenges in 2012.

“Without strong organizational structures at the base and an effective strategy, all our efforts to win power will be in Vain,” Mr. Buckman advised.

He therefore suggested to the National Executive to convene on emergency meeting to work out a re-organization programme throughout the country.

A nation-wide tour be undertaken thank all the Constituents for their role and contribution to the party and ask them to remain united, steadfast and re-organize for 2012.

Mr. Buckman reiterated the need for fresh unity talks to bring all Nkrumaist groups under the umbrella of the CPP as united party.

“This is very critical for the survival of the great CPP and all those involved in the talks must bury their petty interest in favour of the National well being”, he said.

Nana Buckman called on all Party stalwarts, office holders, past and present, to renew their commitment to the Party and contribute in money and in kinds to the revival and sustenance of the Party.

He conceded that “The challenges ahead are daunting”, but was quick to add that “With the right goodwill and sacrifice, we can overcome and re-organize the CPP to fight and conquer”.

He called for the re-organization of the vital wings of the party and strong identifiable and committed groups which should be tasked to coordinate activities in the Constituencies.

Nana Buckman congratulated Miss Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Osagyefo Dr. Nkrumah, for winning the Jomoro seat for the CPP.

He congratulated also the people of Jomoro for their support and solidarity with the CPP and loyalty to Dr. Nkrumah for ensuring the victory of Samia in the Constituency.

Mr. Buckman called for Party support to Samia to succeed in her work as an MP and to hold high the blaze set by her father.

“Let us be inspired by the victory to organize and fight on, we can’t allow the CPP which achieve independence for Ghana, to sink into oblivion”, Mr. Buckman charged the rank and file of the Party.
