President Presents Cars To Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department
President John Evans Atta Mills yesterday presented 12 saloon cars to the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department, to enhance the operations of the department.
Apart from the vehicles, President Mills gave a strong assurance of the government’s determination to resource the ministry and the department to advance the nation’s justice delivery system.
Presenting the keys to the vehicles to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu, President Mills commended the staff for their contribution to justice delivery in spite of the limited logistics.
He said he was aware of the challenges confronting them, and assured them of his support towards improving their output.
Receiving the keys, Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu, thanked the President for the special interest in resource for outfit, describing it as a laudable development.
She said the department now has 200 State Attorneys, who she described as almost the full complement of lawyers required by the department, adding that because of the improved numbers, some of the attorneys are now able to handle specialized cases.
“We have been under resourced, but we are working within the constraints” she said, and expressed optimism that the new logistics would enable the staff to improve on their output.
