President John Evans Atta Mills resumed active work yesterday, after returning home on Monday afternoon from the USA from a routine medical check-up.
True to his word that he is fully fit to continue his duties, President Mills was at his desk by 8:30 am, working on various items which required his attention.
As usual, a number of Ministers and government officials called at his office for discussions and instructions on various issues, while a he held meetings with a number of guests.
The President, who worked full day in his office yesterday, told the nation on arrival at the airport that he is very fit, stressing that the report of the check-up indicated that the energy he has is enough for the present and the future.
“The President is back, and it is business as usual,” Koku Anyidoho, Director of Communications at the Presidency told The Ghanaian Times.
He said “the President is in good shape, and determined to fully deliver on the mandate given to him by Ghanaians.”
The President, he said, remained highly optimistic of securing a second term, saying he was prepared to work to merit that mandate from the nation.
Although the President believed the government had performed creditably to merit another term, he said the President was leaving no room for complacency.
