THIS year’s May Day celebration by organised labour, which falls on Saturday,
May 1, has been dedicated to Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s First President.
It is to be celebrated on the theme, “Consolidating Workers solidarity and the Legacy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.”
May Day, the workers day of solidarity, is a day when workers in Ghana join other workers worldwide to celebrate.
A statement signed by Kofi Asamoah, Secretary General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress said President John Evans Atta Mills, will be the special Guest of Honour at the May Day Parade at the Independence Square on Saturday, May 1.
“There will also be May Day parades in all regional capitals throughout the country”,
the statement said.
