Reigning Greater Accra Amateur best boxer flyweight Jessie Lartey of Fit Square continued his impressive showing when he scored a 2-1 verdict win over gym mate Duke Micah at Dade Friday Night boxing contest at the Prison Canteen Cantonments.

The two who looked a pale shadow of themselves managed to sell out one of the best fights of the night as they had back and forth exchanges at drew applauds from the spars crowd that included the new Greater Accra Amateur Boxing (GABA) chairman Mr. Kotei Neequaye, Black Bombers head coach Roberto Chavez and his two deputies.

Both boxers displayed some quality boxing techniques that will be a mouthful for their contenders at the flyweight and bantamweight level as the league gather momentum but at the end of the bout Lartey the most experience of the two boxers ended up as the winner via a 2-1 score.

Middleweight Robert Effa of Dade gym was at the receiving end for virtually the three rounds that his bout with Emmanuel Adjei of Fit Square lasted. Adjei a Black Bomber brought his experience to bear on the fight as he gave his opponent little breathing space punching his face and body to score points.

Realising a nose defect, Adjei took advantage to pummel his opponent into submission leaving Effa with the only option of resorting to some unorthodox boxing antics which ended up seeing him lose the fight 0-4.

In other bouts welterweight Onismus Quartey of Akotoku won a 5-3 victory over Ahmed Lartei Lartey of Fit Square while an all Fit Square gym welterweight showdown between Sulemana Situ and Emmanuel Adjei went in favour of the latter 3-1.

Ofoli Tetteh of the Reformers of Prisons had a walkover against his Fit Square Alex Baba in their scheduled featherweight bout while Timothy Offei of Fit Square also had a walkover in a welterweight bout against Patrick Nako of Dade Gym.

According to the organizer of the contest Mr. Gideon Quartey the contest is being instituted to give the boxers an opportunity to test their strength against other boxers from other gyms and to keep them in shape for regional, national and international assignment in the coming months.
