Fit Square boxing gym duo, Jesse Lartey and Duke Micah are set to make first defenses of the Africa Golden Gloves Warriors (AGGW) championship belts they won barely two months ago in this weekend’s round of bouts scheduled for the Prisons Canteen tonight.

Lartey, the lightweight champion will be challenged by Nurudeen Dowuona from the Akotoku gym in Accra in a challenge that is expected to bring out the best from the two boxers.

Unlike boxers from Fit Square which have established themselves as forces at the weekly tournament, Akotoku is yet to make their presence felt and perhaps, Dowuona will be inspired to cause a sensation by dethroning the favourite in this evening’s clash.

Micah’s flyweight strap will also be at stake as Attoh Quarshie gym’s Annan Ampiah attempt to register his name among the AGGW champions.

The event, promoted by Dade Boxing Promotions will also see three other important bouts that will put winners in good positions for a possible challenge for any of the titles.

That will see Patrick Aryee from the Wisdom gym taking on Isaac Fiifi Taylor from the Akotoku gym in a bantamweight contest while Attoh Quarshie’s Isaac Sackey comes face to face with Abdul Waheed Omar from the Wisdom gym in a bantamweight eliminator.

In a light welterweight eliminator, the pride of Bronx gym, Victor Kuwornu will battle it out with Dan Amarteifio from the Attoh Quarshie gym in a clash expected to generate a lot of thrills.
