An Iranian refrigeration manufacturing company Yakhsaran, will soon send experts to Ghana to undertake a feasibility study to determine the possibility of establishing a manufacturing company in the country.
“We have heard so much about Ghana being Africa’s golden gateway to a safe and stable investment destination. We will start the process of making Ghana our base for West Africa, if our experts give us the green light,” said Soltan Ali Moghimi, President of Yakhsaran, when a Ghanaian investment promotion delegation touring the Middle East visited the factory in Tehran, Iran.
The Ghanaian team led by Mr. George Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), includes Alhaji Amadu Bukari Sorogho, M.P. for Abokobi/Madina and Chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism, Mr. Seth Adjei-Baah, M.P. for Nkawkaw and Vice President of Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Prof. Samuel Kwadwo Amoako, M.P. for Akim Abuakwa North, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC) and some members of GNCCI.
Soltan Moghimi said with 40 years of experience in the refrigeration field, Yakhsaran is dedicated to the design and manufacture of high-quality products ranging from water coolers, chest freezers, domestic refrigerators and freezers to no-frost freezers.
He said, in line with the company’s rapid and consistent growth, the range of products and services have been expanded progressively to establish Yakhsaran’s position as a leader in the field, adding that “ Yakhsaran refrigerators and freezers with their magnificent and various design and colours have been produced according to the latest international standards.”
The company produces over 400 refrigerators per day with a workforce of 175.
Soltan Moghimi said if Yakhsaran commences operations in Ghana, its products would be given Ghanaian names.
Mr. Aboagye said apart from its stable political environment within the West African sub region, Ghana can boast of abundant, adaptable and easily trainable labour force which the Iranian company could take advantage of.
“We also have a committed private sector willing to collaborate with foreign partners as well as a progressive government/private sector participation, high degree of personal safety, a truly hospitable people and a market for your products,” he said.
