The Minister stressed the need for the media to give prominence to the enumeration exercise by putting out the right message so that people can be confident to give the right answers to enumerators.

Dr. Grace Bediako, Government Statistician, on behalf of the workers, thanked the Minister and members of the committee and said their visit had brought encouragement to the staff of GSS.

She pointed out that with the official announcement of the Census date, it has become critical for the media to help the service to intensify education and publicity, adding “the work is everybody’s business”.

The Government Statistician urged all institutions to begin to think of ways of marking September 26 in such a way that it would leave a lasting impression on their minds.
