The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of this year’s May/June General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations.
A release issued in Accra and signed by the Principal Public Affairs Manager, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, disclosed that 3,760 candidates sat for the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) while 1,254 candidates wrote the Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE).
According to the WAEC, the GBCE is equivalent to the West African Senior School Certificate Examination while the ABCE is equivalent to the former General Certificate Examination, Advanced Level.
It said, holders of the GBCE can further their studies to the advanced level and gain admission to tertiary institutions, while those with the ABCE can also proceed to tertiary institutions.
“There are job prospects for holders of the ABCE in the industrial, commercial, banking and finance as well as other sectors of the economy,” it indicated.
The result lists for school candidates are being sent to their schools, and candidates may access them at www. ghana.waecdirect.org.
