The Eastern Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has organised a sensitization training workshop for media personnel on the National Health Insurance Scheme, here.
The workshop was to educate the media on the operations of the NHIA in the region.
It also afforded the members of the Authority the opportunity to interact with the media to clear pertinent issues which have been disseminated to the general public through the media.
The Eastern Regional Manager of the NHIA, Mr. Windham Emil Afram, said the government was determined to achieve quality and affordable health care for its citizenry, adding that to achieve such an objective, ‘there is the need to properly inform all stakeholders on the operations of the scheme.
“There is the need to ensure that the media is well informed about our operations so that they can disseminate the necessary information to the general public”, he said.
On the issue about the alleged collapse of the scheme, Mr. Afram said that the scheme was still on course, adding that” the staff in the region is working hard to achieve quality health care for the general public.”
