The pride of Fit Square boxing gym, Duke Micah and Jesse Lartey will mount the ring tomorrow at the Prisons Canteen to defend their Africa Golden Gloves Warriors fly weight and light welterweight belts which they won over a month ago.

Micah will face a stern challenge from Annang Ampiah from the Attoh Quarshie gym in a bout that will test the durability of Micah whose recent performance has earned him a call into the national amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers, currently on trials for Olympic Games qualifiers.

The Alajo based Micah has the upper hand in bout between the two and as he attempt to stamp his authority in this bout, his opponent harbours different ambition to stop him and dethrone him as the champion.

In Akotoku gym’s Nurudeen Dowuona, Micah’s gym mate, Lartey will also encounter a tough customer whose ambition to rise to the sport has never been in doubt.

What is unclear is whether he can withstand Lartey’s firepower and speed which reduces his opponents to punching bags.

Abdul Waheed Omar from the Wisdom gym will also come face to face with Isaac Sackey from the Attoh Quarshie gym in a bantamweight eliminator while Michael Offei Dodoo, also from the Attoh Quarshie gym comes in as favourite against Musa Rahaman Lawson from Wisdom gym in a final lightweight eliminator.

The event sanctioned by the AGGW and promoted by Dade Boxing Promotions will also see Attoh Quarshie’s Eric Ameshikor wrestle Emmanuel Ardey Aryee, a Reformer in the second final
