The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Deputy Commissioner of Police Prosper Kwam Agblor, has urged personnel of the police service to be hard working, loyal, dedicated and exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He said the Police Service, like any other institution, aimed at achieving good results and for that target to be met, it required hard work, dedication and integrity.
Hard work pays, irrespective of one’s rank or level of education, even though the rewards may not be immediate as one may expect,” he state, when he presented awards (plaques) from the American Embassy in Accra to three police personnel for their outstanding performance.
The recipients were Superintendent Felix Koku Mawusi of the Commercial Crime Unit, Detective Sergeant Wisdom Semanu and General Sergeant Richard Kungu both of the Police Headquarters.
The meritorious awards, from the US Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security Regional Office, commended the officers for their outstanding performance in arresting an American fugitive.
It reads, ‘Your outstanding leadership and performance of duty resulting in the arrest and extradition of one of America’s most wanted fugitive. The US Embassy, Accra is grateful for your assistance.’
DCOP Agblor said for an institution like the US Embassy to honour, not only to the recipients but for the CID and the police institution as a whole and urged other personnel to emulate the example.
On behalf of the recipients, Mawusi thanked the Embassy for the hounor, adding that it would spur them to greater heights.
