PREPARATIONS have intensified ahead of the prestigious annual Banks And Media (BAM) football tournament which comes off in Accra on November 24, next month, with HFC Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) daring to steal the show.

Ebankese FC is the official football wing of HFC Bank. Ebankese (big fotress) is an 'edin kra' name which symbolises the strength of the team named after the head office of HFC.

The team was established on June 2008 with Mr. Charles Martinson as it founding patron, Mr. Ernest Affram-Mensah as team manager, Mr. Joseph Noi Okwei as its first Captain, and Mr. Sampson Lamptey(Gadarfi) as its first coach.

The team has chalked an impressive number of feats including winning the Amalbank (BOA) 10th anniversary football invitational tournament held at ATTC on December 5, 2009 as well as clinching the HFC 20th anniversary football invitational tournament staged on April 2010.

Among other laurels are the ABFA 2010 Fair Play Award (October 2010), winner of BAM's maiden gala competition (November 2010) and victors of the All Banks Football Gala competition (October 2011).

As present, the team has Mrs Mercy M. Tetteh (General Manager, Corporate Affairs) and Mr. James Addai (General Manager, Finance and Investment) as its patrons.
Chieftain of Ebankese told the Times Sports yesterday that they were highly determined in winning back the trophy on November 24.

For Lions FC - the official football wing of UBA, the sky is even not the limit - insisting that they will roar to victory at the impending BAM tourney.
The team was established on 2010 and has Mr. Richard Bamford as its coach with Mr. Richard Doku as the team manager.

Though a young side, Lions FC within the season (Jan-Oct. 2012) has played a total of five competitive friendly matches, winning three, drawing one and losing the other.
The team currently has Mr. Charles Odonkor (Regional Director) as its patron.
