Bizung School Of Music And Dance Commissioned

An Assistant Director at the Northern Regional Co-coordinating council, Yussiuf Sulemana has commissioned the Bizung School of Music and dance at Jisonayilli in Tamale with a challenge to Ghanaians to take advantage of global opportunities like ICT to market their diverse positive cultures.

Assistant Co-coordinating Director said Ghanaians ought to be proud of their cultures through which they can make socio – economic gains by exposing such unique cultures to the outside world.

Mr. Sulemana said culture continues to play an integral part of any society that aspires to develop in all fronts and Ghana cannot afford to be left behinds.

He commended the Bizung School saying the project has been launched at the right time especially when people are complain8ing about the infiltration of not only foreign cultures but some negative ones which denigrate the whole moral fabrics of society.

Speaking on the significance of culture though much and dance James Adabuga, northern regional director of the Centre for National Culture said culture and tradition must be a basis for uniting people rather than the conflicts discrimination and stereotype which dance the people.

Mr. Adabuga encouraged the school to 3explore other unique dances and must from the north that has not been much highlighted,

The Bizung School of music and dance was established through partnership between citizen of Tamale Mohammed Abdul and like playing for change a US NGO.

The school offers instruction in drumming. Dance, Xylophone play, vocal and Gonja music which are mostly of northern descend.
