NHIA Releases GHC35 million To Service Providers Nationwide

THE National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has released GHC35 million to 79 district schemes throughout the country for disbursement to NHIS service providers.
The Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs and Strategic Direction of the Authority, Mr. Eric Ametor-Quarmyne, who disclosed this to the Times yesterday said beneficiary districts and institutions include Ablekuma South-Metro in Accra, Asuogyaman, in the Eastern Region, Akatsi in the Volta region, Cape Cost in the Central region, Jomoro and Amenfi East in the Western Region, and Adansi North and AdansiSouth in the Ashanti Region.
Others are Asunafo South and Jaman North in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nanumba North and Nanumba South in the Northern Region, Nadoli and Wa in the Upper West Region.
Kassena Nankana and Builsa districts health insurance schemes in the Upper East Region.
Mr. Ametor-Quarmyne said government recognised the contribution that the service providers rendered to the society as far as health service delivery was concerned and it would not hesitate to provide their needs to enable them to discharge their services.
He therefore appealed to the service providers to exercise restraint in their demand for payment of their claims.
He said that the Authority had no intention to delay payment for which the institutions had provided service but explained that once a bill was submitted, it called for thorough scrutiny to ensure that there were no malpractices.

why this discrimination? is subsidy released quarterly or released to some selected schemes? surely, the one time premium is in danger. let\'s thank the npp govt for prompt release of subsidy. subsidy and buying of cars which one is more important. shame to ndc govt for you have come to destroy this noble policy for ghanaians.
