WESGOSA Presents To Alma Mater

THE Wesley Grammar Old Students Association (WESGOSA),has presented various educational materials to the Wesley Grammar High School with the aim of promoting the academic performance of students and improve the teaching and learning skills in the school.
The materials including were in fulfillment of a pledge made by the association during its second national homecoming held in July last year .
The association also launched an essay competition for the students on the topic \'\'How does internet fraud affect the youth and the society.’
Receiving the materials, Reverend Aidoo stated that he is glad that the association is on the right direction because the school for some time now has been looking for means to repace its old facilities with modern ones which was what the association had started doing.
He said the essay competition will encorage the students to sit up and do more researches on the impact of internet fraud on the youth and the possible recommendations to deal with it.
The headmaster encouraged students who were not yet members of the association to join immediately and held in developing the school.
Presenting the materials,Mr. Ernest Doku said that the association in trying to better the conditions and environment of the school presented these materials which is not the first time and the last of the association.
He mentioned that the association has already donated many facilities including water tanks, sporting equipment among other materials to the school.
He said that the essay competition will raise awareness among the students as to problems involved in cyber fraud and prevent them from thinking of the short cut way to making it in life.
Mr.Richard Zinleri, the vice president of the University of Ghana branch of the association, stated that the essay competition was launched by the Legon branch mainly to involve students into looking for the causes,problems and solutions of cyber fraud.
He said, the winners will receive prizes which include learning materials and certificates of participation.
Mr. Ernest Amoah , a member of the planning committee, stated that the competition seeks to instill the habit of researching and effective writing skills of the students.
He said the recommendations from the essay competition are expected to be made available to relevant stakeholders on ways to curb the internet fraud menace in the country.
