THE Effutu Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at its annual delegates conference at Winneba elected new executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next two years.

The incumbent chairman, Mr. Kojo Asmah Bondzie, was elected unopposed in an election conducted jointly by the Effutu Electoral Commission, led by Mr. Ankumah and the party’s Electoral Committee headed by Mr. Samuel R. Ziggah.

It was supervised by the Central Region NDC executives led by Mr. Ekow Anyanful, the acting regional chairman.

Other executives elected were Mr. King Bernasko Nyarko who polled 110 votes to beat his rival, Mr. Kwame Nkrumah who obtained 64 votes. Miss Millicent Salifu, incumbent constituency women organiser, maintained her position.

Mr. F. L. Amonoo was elected the secretary whilst Mrs. Gertrude Impraim obtained 101 votes to become the treasurer.

Mr. Patrick Aniagyei, Central Region organiser of the party, swore the executives into office and asked them to work harder to ensure that the party retains power in the 2012 general election.

Mr. Bondzie, in his acceptance speech, appealed to the members who lost the election to rally behind the chosen ones to ensure victory for the party in 2012.
