The three robbers after their arrest
Three men are in the custody of the police for an alleged armed robbery at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
The suspects, Kofi Yeboah,24 an ex-convict,Musah Mohammed and Kwame Owusu,18 were said to have attacked Kwesi Amponsah with a kitchen knife and taken from him his two mobile phones and an amount of Gh¢72.
The Kaneshie District Police commander, Chief Superintendent Fleance Adikah told the Ghanaian Times in Accra on Wednesday that on July 8, Amponsah who was on his way to a nature’s call at Nkrumah Circle was attacked by four men who were armed with a kitchen knife and ordered him to surrender his money and phones.
“They took from Amponsah an amount of GH¢72 and his two mobile phones from his pocket “he added.
He said Amponsah begged them for an amount of GH¢1 for transportation back home to Kasoa, adding that Musah gave him an amount of GH¢5 and one of the phones.
C/Supt Adikah said the three suspects were arrested by some people who witnessed the attack and handed them over to the police.
He said the fourth suspect, identified as Ibrahim escaped, adding that the Police have mounted a search for him.
C/Supt Adikah said they will be put before court after investigations.
